"The Financiers of Congressional Elections is a good read for anyone interested in understanding individual donors." — Shelly Conroy, Congress and the Presidency
"Many of us thought we already understood congressional campaign contributors from press accounts and from the 'obvious facts' that 'leap out' from official disclosure records. It turns out – why are we surprised – that contributors'motivations have more nuance than we had seen. This is an important book, well researched and crafted, about some very important people. It belongs on the shelf on every serious student of U.S. elections." — Michael J. Malbin, Campaign Finance Institute (Washington, D.C.) and University at Albany, SUNY
