"Still, this is an essential book for anyone interested understanding contemporary Islam and the Muslim world. And while the book may downplay some of the most controversial of Qaradawi’s views, these are too often the only aspects of his thought that are discussed in the West. The editors have therefore done a great service in bringing other, less discussed, yet probably more important issues into focus." — New Republic

"The Global Mufti offers a fascinating collection of essays that covers all the main dimensions of Yusuf al-Qaradawi, providing well-documented and carefully considered evaluations of key dimensions of Qaradawi's activities and thinking and the more theoretical dimension of his methodology." — Jorgen S. Nielsen, University of Birmingham

"This is to the first time a non-Muslim publication has focused solely on Yusuf al-Qaradawi as a theologian and Muslim leader. The Global Mufti has strong potential to become a modern classic in the study of contemporary Islam." — Göran Larsson, University of Gothenburg
